Beware of Scammers
so i was ingame today and this person messaged me this, he wanted me to trade him my rare pets for nothing so he could take "fotos" of them and then trade them back with 50k, now i know this may seem like a no brainer but someone new to guild wars might see this as a quick easy way to make some cash, just be wary of people like this

This guy is REALLY bad at trying to steal something. Almost like someone who tries to buy an expensive TV and asks if they can put it into there car and take it home before paying for it.
Oh and I really don't think any actual new players to Guild Wars will own any rare mini pets or any kind of mini pets at all.

I imagine that it would take someone "new" to online gaming in general and VERY young. Someone coming from another MMO might not fall for this even if they are new to GW. Someone new to online gaming who is also very naive and or young will most likely fall for this.
The "lemme take pics of your minipets" has been goin on for a while now. First cases when I heard of it, the scammer asked you to go outside and drop them on the ground for him to take pictures. I guess they gotta switch it up here and there.
No one had asked me to do this yet but I can't wait for if and or when I do. Would be funny.

Last week I was trying to buy a unded dhuum in kamadan, when I was whispered for one of these scammers. He told me that has a new guild and was doing a forum, so he was doing photos of rare pets. After this, he sayed he will give me 100 ectos after photo.
I hadn,t the pet so he told me that he will wait, but finally he sayed me that he will give me the 100 ectos for a photo of my ectos,xd. So I accepted.
I show him the ectos, but he didn,t want that. Then we went outside city and he asked me to thow ectos to ground. He showed me his build so I could see that he hand,t nothing to run ( although the build had a name differet of the characater he was playing) and then he went away and asked me to thow the ectos, because now he couldn´t take ectos before I took and in his false build there wasn,t nothing for run.
Of course I dind,t thow abot 700 ectos to ground and I laughed of him. Finally one more in ignore list, but a nice experience.

If someone actually falls for this they deserve it quite frankly. If you are really that stupid, you deserve to learn the hard way and maybe spawn another braincell that isnt only for clicking and life support.

You know. With the screenshot evidence you could teach this scammer that scammers never win. Submit it with a report to the web support section. His account will be suspended. You will even get a message from support stating as such so that you can enjoy knowing that the scumbag is without the game for X days (Or permanent if he's done it before.)

Ah the old "I need a picture" scam, I said in a previous post about this, just keep some weird odds and ends in your inventory for just such an occasion. Hunks of Fresh Meat, Juicy Heket Legs.
A lot of times they won't pay attention to what you actually drop and grab it and map out only to realize you gave them crap.

You should have givin him a 1st year white mini pet worth 1k max since most of them are to dumb to look what mini you give since they think there scam works and trade and leave. Then e-mail support saying you got scammed include his user name and the time when it happend and he will get his account suspended for 3 days. And all it costed you was a worthless mini noone even wants.

Kinda hope I get targeted by a scammer so I can try something like this. Just drop a dedicated minipet you never use.

The scam that always annoys the crap out of me:
Scam Account #1: WTB Blazing Wing Wand - 50k
.
.
.
.
Scam Account #2: WTS Blazing Wind Wand - 25k
I remember the first time I saw this, I thought I had hit the jackpot because I actually had the item in my inventory, so I try opening trade with the buyer who of course just ignores me and keeps closing the trade window.

Well no, the scam being that he's hoping that ppl would go buy the wand off the other "seller" (which is the same guy or his friend), with the idea in mind that they could resell it for 50K and hence making an easy 25K.
And yes, that is a scam, or even a con more precise.
